- Summary
A2A which is hosted by the National Archives (formerly Public Record Office) is the English strand of the UK national archives network. It allows researchers to search or browse full text catalogues from archive repositories in England. As of September 2003 the A2A database contained over 5 million catalogue entries and from over 300 repositories. In the first phase of A2A development a Web of Science Archives consortium led by the Royal Society and including Geological Society of London, Imperial College London, Natural History Museum, the Institutions of Civil and Mechanical Engineers, the Royal Institution and the NCUACS delivered over 27,000 catalogue pages (a quarter of a million catalogue entries) to A2A, ensuring the good representation of science and technology archives to this resource.
