"The purpose of H-Eugenics is to provide a forum for the discussion of the history of eugenics.* This includes discussion of primary and secondary sources related to the history of eugenics; discussion or debate on specific aspects of the history of eugenics as they occur to list participants; ideas for books, articles, courses, or other scholarly projects on the history of eugenics; reviews of books and other scholarly literature related to the history of eugenics; and discussion of the relationship of 21st century biomedical procedures and genetic modification to eugenics ( i.e., "neo-eugenics").

The anticipated audience includes all professionals, such as historians, anthropologists, biologists, medical professionals, biomedical ethicists, civil servants, elected officials, educators, and legal scholars or practitioners, who have a scholarly interest in the history of eugenics.
In submitting contributions to this forum, authors agree to the following principles, which will be applied by the H-Eugenics editorial staff and advisory board in accordance with H-NET's constitution and bylaws: Because eugenics historically contributed to some of history's most horrific prejudices, participants agree that this list should not be open to postings that promote or legitimate prejudice towards or discriminatory treatment of any group or individuals."
